Setting up merchant fees without buy rate

  1. Are you ready?

    In this tutorial we are going to set up Merchant Fees.

    We are going to set up the fees with the following parameters:
    • Transactions will be funded within 48 hours (2 business days after the processing day). Processing fees will be deducted at the time of deposit. This corresponds to the demand-demand Fee Type, which is a standards type of fees.
    • Merchant will be funded Visa, Master Card, Discover and direct debit through the system while American Express will be funded directly by American Express.
    • We are going to use blended rate of 2.8% plus 10 cent on all card types for realtime and batch processing.
    • For direct debit we are going to use the blended rate of 1.5% plus 5 cent.
    • Processing Fees are charged on approvals only and per item fees are charged on approvals, declines and voids.
    • The same fees will be charged for both sale and credit types of transaction.
    • The merchant will be charged $25 chargeback fee, $10 direct debit return fee, One-time Setup Fee of $500 and Monthly Recurring Service Fee of $19.99.
  2. Log in to the system using your Username and Password and switch to the Merchant Perspective.

    Note: To learn how to log in and select perspectives, use the prerequisite tutorial Logging in and navigating the application.
  3. Click   Remittancebutton in the top section of the screen.
  4. Choose   Fees  menu item  from the list.
  5. Locate     Type  button and click it to start process of merchant fees setup.
  6. Choose demand-demand fee type and open its form it by clicking on modify option.
  7. Locate   Policy  tab to set up policy for demand-demand fee type we use for our merchant.
  8. Locate   Realtime  groupbox
  9. Locate   Processing Cost  radio button
  10. Choose Include Merchant  radio button  to activate it for Cards and direct debit
  11. Choose Ignore  radio button  to activate it for Amex
  12. Locate   Deposit (Payments)  panel
  13. Choose Deposit  radio button  to activate it for Visa, Master Card, Discover and direct debit
  14. Choose Skip  radio button  to activate it for American Express, Visa Pin Debit, MasterCard Pin Debit, EBT and Bank Card
  15. Locate   Fees Policy  panel
  16. Choose %  checkbox  to activate it for Payments
  17. Choose $  checkbox  to activate it for Payments, Declines and Voids
  18. Locate   Batch  groupbox
  19. Locate   Processing Cost  panel
  20. Choose Include Merchant  radio button  to activate it for Cards and direct debit
  21. Choose Ignore  radio button  to activate it for Amex
  22. Locate   Deposit (Payments)  panel
  23. Choose Deposit  radio button  for Visa, Master Card, Discover and direct debit
  24. Choose Skip  radio button  for American Express
  25. Locate   Fees Policy  panel
  26. Choose %  checkbox  to activate it for Payments (Regular) and Payments (Rebill)
  27. Choose $  checkbox  to activate it for Payments (Regular), Payments (Rebill), Declines (Regular), Declines (Rebill) and Declines (Retry)
  28. After you are done, your screen will look similar to the screenshot.
  29. Locate   Realtime  tab and click on it to set up fees for realtime transactions.
  30. Locate   Visa (Sale)  panel
  31. Locate   Visa Processing  label
  32. Enter 2.8 into the Feetextbox
  33. Locate   Visa per Item  label
  34. Enter 0.1 into the Feetextbox
  35. Locate   >>  button next to Visa (Sale) groupbox and click on it to copy the data you entered to Visa (Credit) groupbox.
  36. Repeat the same process for all card brands.
  37. Locate   Direct Debit (Sale)  panel
  38. Locate   Direct Debit Processing  textbox
  39. Enter 1.5 into the Feetextbox
  40. Locate   Direct Debit per Item  textbox
  41. Enter 0.05 into the Feetextbox
  42. Locate   >>  button next to direct debit (Sale) groupbox and click on it to copy the data you entered to direct debit (Credit) groupbox.
  43. After you are done, your screen will look similar to the screenshot.
  44. Locate   Batch  tab and click on it to set up fees for batch transactions.

  47. Enter 2.8 into the Feetextbox
  48. Locate   Visa per Item  label
  49. Enter 0.1 into the Feetextbox
  50. Locate   >>  button next to Visa (Sale) groupbox and click on it to copy the data you entered to Visa (Credit) groupbox.
  51. Repeat the same process for all card brands.
  52. Locate   Direct Debit (Sale)  panel
  53. Locate   Direct Debit Processing  textbox
  54. Enter 1.5 into the Feetextbox
  55. Locate   Direct Debit per Item  textbox
  56. Enter 0.05 into the Feetextbox
  57. Locate   >>  button next to direct debit (Sale) groupbox and click on it to copy the data you entered to direct debit (Credit) groupbox.
  58. After you are done, your screen will look similar to the screenshot.
  59. Locate   Flat  tab and click on it to set up flat fees.
  60. Locate   Chargebacks  panel
  61. Locate   Chargeback Fee  textbox
  62. Enter 25 into the Feetextbox
  63. Locate   Returns  panel
  64. Locate   Direct Debit Return Fee  textbox
  65. Enter 10 into the Feetextbox
  66. After you are done, your screen will look similar to the screenshot.
  67. Locate   Recurring  tab and click on it to set up recurring fees.
  68. Locate   One Time  panel
  69. Locate   OneTime Fee 01  textbox and rename it to “One-Time Setup Fee”.

    Note: You can give any names for Recurring Fees sections.
  70. Enter 500 into the Feetextbox
  71. Locate   Monthly  panel
  72. Locate   Monthly Fee 01  textbox
  73. Enter 19.99 into the Feetextbox
  74. After you are done, your screen will look similar to the screenshot.
  75. Click   Savebutton
